Harvey recently went through the career, college, and higher education funding gauntlet with his 18-year-old son. During that process it became clear that there are some fantastic resources for parents going through this process, that he definitely started WAY TOO LATE, and that there were some resources and consultants to avoid at all costs. Harvey has been helping educators in various schools around the Philadelphia area navigate educational technology tools since 2009. As a technology teacher leader for the School District of Philadelphia, working in schools across the region, he has helped with numerous technology projects that enhanced the teaching and learning experiences for thousands of students. He also has experience with instructional design and curriculum development for engineering, computer science, esports, and other STEM courses.

Harvey has experience with Google Applications for Education, both Microsoft and Apple product suites, computer science learning platforms, and hundreds of educational software packages for building and maintaining websites, multimedia presentations, computer-aided design, and digital arts disciplines. As a professional development leader and facilitator, he has trained thousands of educators in multiple states on the east coast for Code.org since 2014. Harvey has also helped students at multiple schools start and maintain active eSports programs, and has created and shared a curriculum for eSports in the classroom with other colleagues in the area.

Prior to his career in education, Harvey served in the US Army Reserves and the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1988 to 2010 and has deployed twice overseas in support of different military operations. He also worked in engineering and architectural (Kitchen & Bath Designer) sales management. Harvey lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife, three sons, and their dog Zeke. He is an Assistant Scoutmaster as well as being a BSA Merit Badge Counselor. Harvey is also an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and Range Safety Officer. He has coached many youth sports in his community and is youth leader at his family's church in Harleysville. Harvey attended St. Pius X High School in Pottstown (1986) and grew up in the Upper Perkiomen Valley.
